Paws for Cause Animal Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based rescue in Ottawa, dedicated to helping animals in need locally and internationally. Our team is run by volunteers who are passionate about rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, advocacy, and education.
Meet the team
Marie co-founded Paws for Cause Animal Rescue after years of volunteering for various shelters, rescues and sanctuaries. She's the one who supports the fosters and coordinates adoptions with each foster family.
International rescue organizations are also very important to her, and she has been involved with rescue groups overseas who are fighting the dog meat trade, and stray animal issues where there are currently no animal welfare laws. Through this, our international rescue program was developed.
Tessa became co-founder with Paws for Cause Animal Rescue following 13 years of working in animal welfare in foster and adoptions.
She brings her in-depth knowledge, working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the rescue is running smoothly with our community partners.
Kristin has worked in animal care for 10 years, as a dog walker, with large breed rescues, and in a clinic setting. She brings passion for rescue by supporting the maintenance of our website.
Myra joined our team in the spring of 2023, after volunteering as a foster for various rescues. She brings her love and passion for animals to our admin team, and is in charge of reference calls, answering emails and messages coming through the website.
