Meet the team
Marie co-founded Paws for Cause Animal Rescue after years of volunteering for rescues. She has worked in Social Work for 15 years and has been heavily involved in animal welfare since 2008 where she started volunteering at the Ottawa Humane Society as a dog walker, and later volunteered with private rescues and sanctuaries. From 2016-2018, she worked as a kennel attendant where she continues to volunteer today.
International rescue organizations are also very important to Marie, and she has been involved with small groups who are fighting the dog meat trade, and stray animal issues where there are currently no animal welfare laws.
Tessa became co-founder with Paws for Cause Animal Rescue following 13 years of working in animal welfare in foster and adoptions.
She brings her in-depth knowledge and ensures that the rescue is running smoothly in all aspects of the team, as well as coordinating and being a liaison with community partners, fosters and adopters.
Kristin has worked in animal care for 10 years, as a dog walker, with large breed rescues and in a clinic setting. She brings her excellent customer service skills, passion for animal welfare, as well as pet first aid, dog cogniton and animal welfare certifications to the rescue.
Sarah has been involved in various capacities of the animal world for over 12 years. She has completed several courses in animal anatomy, physiology, behavior and nutrition. With a keen interest in training and learning new things, she has dabbled in the world of Obedience, Rally-O, and Agility.
Sarah helps us out by providing admin support and by participating in foster & adoption placements.
