Harbin SHS Animal rescue

Paws with a Cause was busy over the holiday season. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to help pet parents by taking care of their cats while they traveled over Christmas. I would like to say a big thank you to each and every one of you for trusting me with the care of your beloved pets.

As part of a business for a cause, this month's showcase features the rescue that our Christmas profits went to; Slaughterhouse survivors in Harbin, China. I started following this group of 3 amazing women on social media: @slaughterhouse_survivors, several months ago after doing more research on the rescue groups helping to fight the cat and dog meat trade in China. The rescue was founded by 3 women living in Harbin, North-East China, who work full-time as teachers; Hayley, from Ireland, Aimee, from Australia, and Emily, from England. "We started rescuing animals together in the summer of 2016 in our free time, after seeing the vast amount of animals needing help in Harbin, and China as a whole".

I have been in contact with these 3 amazing women via e-mail, and I have also made contacts with a volunteer who has spent time on the rescue site helping the animals. As I have followed their rescues on social media, I have observed the hard work, dedication, heartbreak and success stories that comes with running a rescue that cares for the cats and dogs who are saved from slaughter and given another chance. The donations sent to Harbin go directly to feeding the animals, the medical bills that continuously pile up from always taking in new animals in need, and preparing the ones ready for adoption get on a flight to their new home countries.

Attached below is the direct link to their website with more information, pictures and updates as they work around the clock to give these precious animals the TLC they deserve.
